Vulnerable populations, including youth, are being left behind.

How do we close the digital divide so every young person can benefit from opportunities?

Stakeholders need to collaborate on four core elements that will  help youth thrive in a digital world.

  1. Connectivity - Access to reliable power, digital infrastructure, devices, and platforms.
  2. Access - Steady family income, affordable fees, and health and wellness resources.
  3. Digital literacy - Foundational literacy skills, native language resources and awareness of online risks.
  4. Work-ready skills - Advanced education, training, and access to digital work platforms.

Solutions for the 21st century must be reimagined and we all have a role to play.

  • Global institutions
  • Governments
  • Corporate and private capital
  • Communities
  • Young people

Youth leader Maryam Elgonia says: “Connecting young people to a digital future means so much. It means we have access to information and opportunities at our fingertips. It means dreams can become realities.  It means that we create a future full of promise and prosperity. It means that we create a future where no one is left behind.”
